VIENNA — Funeral services for Jimmy Watson , 77, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the funeral beginning at 10 a.m.

 Jimmy died Wednesday morning, May 30, 2018 at Navicent Health Center in Macon, Ga. He is the son of the late Lorenza Barney Watson and the late Fairrest Lee Alvis Griffin Watson. He is also preceded in death by his great-grandson, Jase Davenport.

He proudly served our country as an Air Traffic Controller in the U. S. Air Force.  He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the New Covenant Church of Cordele.

He is survived by his wife: Jerrie L. Watson of Vienna; his children: David Watson and Tina (John) Sapp all of Vienna, Ga.; his siblings: Bill (Ann) Watson of Jacksonville, Fla., Randy Watson of Buford, Ga., Sherrie Watson and Linda (Joe) Whitman all of Cordele, and Marcia (Arthur) Black of Tifton; his two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
