Vehicle chases ensued by the GSP

On 06/08/2018 at approximately 9:51 pm Trooper Pollock attempted to stop a 2016 KIA Forte, driven by Trumel Jamal Brown of Cordele when it failed to stop at a stop sign on 20th Ave. Trooper Pollock activated his emergency equipment, and a pursuit ensued. The car ran several stop signs at a high rate of speed. As the car traveled towards Trooper Forsythe, he assisted in the chase. The vehicle made several turns and as they approached 10th Street south and Joe Wright Drive, Trooper Forsythe was able to successfully PIT the car. The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot. Trooper Forsythe deployed his Taser twice but the suspect continued to resist and attempted to assault Trooper Forsythe. Once Trooper Pollock was on scene they were able to handcuff the suspect and take him into custody.

Trumel Jamal Brown was transported to the Crisp County Jail and charged with Felony Obstruction, Felony Fleeing, DUI, Driving While Declared a Habitual Violator and several other traffic charges.

 

 

On 06/10/2018 at approximately 2:20 am Trooper King received a Look Out, on a vehicle and suspect description, from a Cordele PD officer in reference to a suspect that attempted to break into a residence. Trooper King observed the 2001 Buick Century driven by Little Henry Smith of Cordele traveling west on 24th avenue in Cordele. Trooper King activated his emergency equipment to perform a traffic stop and a pursuit ensued. After a brief chase the driver abandoned his vehicle at a residence on 27th Ave and fled on foot. Trooper King pursued the suspect on foot and was able to successfully deploy his Taser. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Little Henry Smith was transported to the Crisp County Jail and charged with Fleeing, Obstruction, DUI,  Driving While Suspended and several other traffic charges.
