Cordele Police reports June 22 – July 4

Friday, June 22

At 3:05 a.m., Cordele Police spoke with a theft victim at the Police Department in reference to a theft that occurred at 803 S Joe Wright Drive.

At 11:40 a.m., Cordele Police responded to Crisp County Jail in reference to serving two probation violations to two separate individuals that were already in custody.

At 5:44 p.m., Cordele Police responded to the area of 501 Oak Ave in reference to a wanted person. Patrick Ward was taken into custody for Failure to Appear.

At 6:04 p.m., while patrolling in the area of 16th Ave and 7th St, Cordele Police observed Damaged Property and made contact with the owner.

At 11:23 p.m., Cordele Police Department personnel conducted a traffic stop on black in color 2001 Lincoln Navigator in reference to a traffic violation. The driver, Marcus S Gordon, of Cordele, was found to be driving without a license and was arrested at the scene, then taken to the Crisp County Jail.

Saturday, June 23

At 10:09 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 401 E 28th Ave in reference to an Entering Auto.

At 11:54 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 1215 E 16th (Wal-Mart) in reference to a theft. The victim stated that her prescription medication had been taken out of her shopping cart.

At 4:00 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 716 S 13th St in reference to the theft of a bicycle.

At 4:55 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 401 E 14th Ave in reference to a disturbance.

Tuesday, June 26

At 7:44 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 302 E 24th Ave in reference to a Burglary in the Second Degree. The complainant stated that someone had broken into his storage unit and taken items.

At 7:51 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 201 S 12th St in reference to Criminal Trespass. The complainant advised that someone came onto his property without his permission and broke out his car window with rocks.

At 7:55 p.m., Cordele Police initiated a traffic stop at E 16th Ave and Laporte Drive for Failure to Stop at Stop/Yield Sign. The driver, wanted person, Esteban Obregon, of Immokalee, Florida, was apprehended.

At 10:04 p.m., Cordele Police responded to an accident at E 24th Ave and S 4th St. Jonathan Smith, of Cordele, was arrested and issued citations for Failure to Yield the Right of a Way while turning and DUI/Alcohol 0.8 Grams or More.

Wednesday, June 27

At 12:44 p.m., Cordele Police Responded to Pettis Tire Company at 410 S 8th St in reference to a reported stolen vehicle. The complainant stated that a 2000 Jaguar had been taken from the business.

At 10:54 p.m., Cordele Police responded to Aggravated Assault at 702 W 17th Ave. Reneldia McKenzie was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault and one count of Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree.

Thursday, June 28

At 9:50 a.m., officers responded to 412 S 10th St in reference to reported Criminal Trespass. The complainant stated that she and other persons have been trying to improve the playground at Reid Park on Jones Ave. She stated that they had large painted wooden wire spools set up on the playground for the children but during the night of Wednesday, June 27, someone had rolled the spools into a ditch near the playground. She also stated that this has happened several times before as well and it is hindering their improvement efforts to the playground.

At 5:24 p.m., officers responded to the 1600 Block of E 16th Ave in reference to an accident with injuries. Eucario Perez, of Immokalee, Florida, was charged with Failure to Yield Right of Way while turning and no proof of insurance.

Friday, June 29

At 4:05 p.m., officers responded to 1405 Drayton Rd in reference to a Burglary. The complainant stated that she had arrived home to find that someone had broken into her residence and taken TVs.

Saturday, June 30

At 10:58 p.m., officers responded to 1302 E 16th Ave (Jakes Fireworks) in reference to a burglary.

At 11:47 p.m., officers responded to shots fired south of the 100 Block of W 11th Ave. Upon arrival, officers checked the area for any activity, but there was negative contact with any potential shooters.

Sunday, July 1

At 4:32 a.m., officers were dispatched to 505 W 23rd Ave in reference to an Assault.

At 12:18 p.m., officers responded to 409 S 14th St in reference to Criminal Trespass. An officer made contact with the complainant who stated that she came home to find that her bedroom window had been broken.

At 3:21 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 24th Ave and 10th St in reference to a disturbance.

Monday, July 2

At 8:27 a.m., police responded to 202 S 7th St in reference to a Fraud case.

At 8:55 a.m., a wanted person, Gabrielle Allen, of Cordele, was apprehended in the lobby of the Cordele Police Department.

At 10:53 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 711 E 16th Ave in reference to a tag being stolen off of a 2003 Escalade.

At 12:51 p.m., police responded to 608 W 12th Ave in reference to a Criminal Trespass.

At 6:00 p.m., Cordele Police conducted a traffic stop in reference to a violation. The driver, Vermont Terry, of Cordele was arrested for Driving with a Suspended License third offense.

At 8:00 p.m., officers responded to 606 E 4th St in reference to an Entering Auto.

At 9:23 p.m., Cordele Police conducted a traffic stop in reference to a traffic violation. The driver, Craig Jackson, of Cordele, was later arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 1 oz. improper lane usage, and driving on the wrong side of the road.

Tuesday, July 3

At 3:58 p.m., a patrolling officer noticed a blue Nissan Altima rear end a tan GMC Sierra. Diantonio Brown, of Cordele, was charged with Hit and Run-Failure to Stop and Render Aid.

At 11:34 p.m., an officer was travelling West on 23rd Ave towards Joe Wright Drive when he observed a gold Chevrolet Tahoe travelling South at a high rate of speed with music blaring. Investigation revealed that the driver, Anthony Morgan, was driving on a suspended license and under the influence. He was arrested and taken to the Crisp County Jail.

Wednesday, July 4

At 8:48 a.m., officers responded to 605 W 18th Ave in reference to a Theft of a bike. The case was cleared after the complainant made contact with police and notified central that he had found his bike.

At 6:25 p.m., an officer responded to 402 S 7th St (Dollar General) in reference to Theft by Shoplifting. The officer made contact with the complainant who stated that an unknown black male took one pack of white tee shirts. The complainant stated that the man was a tall, older, slender man that was also wearing a Jordan cap with a white shirt and blue jeans. The security footage was provided and the case is being investigated.

At 10:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1613 E 16th Ave in reference to an assault.

At 10:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of W 21st Ave and S Joe Wright Dr in reference to Shots Fired.
