Cordele Police Reports July 14 – July 23

Saturday, July 14

At approximately 7:12 p.m., Cordele Police responded to Dollar General on 7th Street in reference to a Theft.

At approximately 9:13 a.m., Cordele Police observed a dark Chevy Malibu with a headlight out while running the tag number the officer arrested Sierra Barner of Cordele for Apprehension of a Wanted Person.

Sunday, July 15

At approximately 10:46 p.m., while on a traffic stop Cordele Police officer was nearly struck by a driver who was driving East bound on 16th Avenue.

Monday, July 16

At approximately 11:30 a.m., Cordele Police responded to an address on 16th Ave. East in reference to criminal damage to property. Upon arrival, police made contact with the complainant who stated someone keyed their 2012 Ford car. Shacona Loftly was arrested and charged with Criminal Damage to Property 2nd Degree. The case has been cleared by arrest.

At approximately 8:05 a.m. Cordele Police arrested Darreshia Troutman Jackson for Disorderly Conduct.

At approximately 7:41 p.m., Cordele Police Department personnel were called to East 16th Avenue in reference to an accidental damage.

At 3:30 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a walk in at the Police Department in reference to Lost Property.

Tuesday, July 17

At approximately 9:24 p.m. Cordele Police Department personnel was called to West 13th Avenue in reference to Terroristic Threats.

Friday, July 20

Cordele Police observed a red in color Chevrolet Nova with a non-functioning right brake light. Cordele Police initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle, and the driver Jimmy Agular was arrested for Driving without a license, and Brake light/turn signal violation. Also arrested was the passenger Robert Reep for allowing an unlicensed person to drive.

At 10:46 p.m., Cordele Police Department personnel were called to the area of 503 West 23rd Avenue in reference to a fight.

At approximately 9:47 p.m., Cordele Police personnel were called to South 10th Street in reference to a theft.

At 5:18 a.m., Cordele Police were advised by 911 that someone needed a phone call in reference to something on Facebook. Officers contacted the complainant and she advised that there was a video on Facebook of a fight that had happened on the previous day. The complainant gave the officers Facebook names and the officer went and saw the video of this female getting punched, kicked, and dragged on the video. Cordele Police recorded the video just in case the video was taken down.

At 5:00 p.m., Cordele Police responded to Professional Touch in reference to a burglary.

At approximately 9:28 p.m., Cordele Police responded to the 702 West 23rd Avenue in reference to a residential burglary.

At 3:37 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 305 South 10th Street, Apt. A in reference to a theft by taking. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the complainant who stated that her wallet was missing.

At 1:22 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 508 Peachtree Avenue in reference to reported terroristic threats. Upon their arrival contact was made with the complainant, who stated that a black female had come to her residence and threatened her verbally and with a knife.

At approximately 2:31 p.m., Cordele Police were dispatched to the Cordele Police Department in reference to Chelsey Gay, who the officers knew to have an active warrant for her arrest, waiting in the lobby. Officers confirmed the active warrant through GCIC. Based upon that information Gay was placed under arrest for Probation Violation.

At 12:48 p.m., Cordele Police responded to the 800 block of East 16th Avenue to an accidental damage. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the complainant who advised that while he was traveling West on 16th Avenue a rock was thrown from a semi truck, and cracked his windshield.

Saturday, July 21

At 1:42 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 508 North 3rd Street in reference to a assualt that happened at 905 West 19th Avenue.

At approximately 7:11 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 1215 East 16th Avenue (WalMart) in reference to shoplifting in progress. Two juveniles were arrested for Theft by Shoplifting and released to their mother.

At approximately 6:29 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 202 South 13th Street in reference to a verbal dispute.

At 10:46 p.m., Cordele Police was called to the area of 503 West 23rd Avenue in reference to a fight.

At approximately 6:29 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 202 South 13th Street in reference to a verbal dispute. Mario Donte Vinson was arrested for illegal possession of controlled substance.

At 2:14 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 2110 East 16th Avenue, Golden Corral in reference to a Disturbance.

At approximately 11:48 a.m., Cordele Police responded to the intersection of Greer Street and 20th Avenue in reference to a hit and run. Arrested was Kaushikkumar Patel for Hit and Run-Failure to Stop and Render Aid, Failure to Obey Stop Sign, and no tag.

At 6:37 a.m., Cordele Police personnel was on patrol made contact with a Grey Kia Rondo in reference to loud music. Upon conducting a traffic stop contact was made with Jessie James Riggins. Riggins was arrested for loud music, and driving without a license.

At 11:00 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 1005 South 7th Street in reference to a accidental damage property call. Upon their arrival, Mary Starks advised that sometime between July 21, 2018 at 11:00 p.m. and July 23, 2018 at 11:55 a.m. someone drove into her 2000 Honda Accord, causing damage to the driver side door to the rear of the vehicle. Starks could not provide any additional information on a suspect nor exact time of the incident.

At 2:09 a.m., Cordele Police responded to Flash Foods in reference to a counterfeit bill. The bill was collected and placed into evidence.

Sunday, July 22

At 10:56 p.m., Cordele Police Department personnel conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Ford LGT Convtnl F TK. The driver, Jerry Lester was arrested in the area of 10th Street and 24th Avenue and was charged with defective tires, fleeing or attempting to elude, and loud music.

At 6:07 p.m. Cordele Police responded to the 300 block if South 13th Street in reference to several people being sprayed with OC Spray.

At 3:56 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 205 West 19th Avenue in reference to a reported hit and run with pedestrian injury. Upon the officers arrival they were contacted by the complainant who stated that Otario Jackson had been riding by her house and harassing her all day, and he ran over her relative, Mario Adams. Latrasha Kendrick was arrested and charged with allowing unlicensed person to drive, also arrested was Otario Jackson for Hit and run-failure to stop and render aid, Driving without license, and Driving on wrong side of the road.

At 3:44 p.m., Cordele Police observed a disturbance in the front parking lot of the police department. Officers went outside and made contact with the complainant. Arrested was Patricia Sumner for Disorderly Conduct.

At 7:13 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 102 East 14th Avenue in reference to a Criminal Trespass. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the complainant who advised that someone damaged her vehicle through the night.

At 2:11 p.m., Cordele Police were dispatched to 607 West 10th Avenue in reference to an assault.

Monday, July 23

At 10:29 p.m., Cordele Police were dispatched to 503 West 24th Avenue in reference to a theft.

At 9:14 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a disturbance at 1008 Seven Springs Drive, Apt. A. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the complainant, which stated that someone threw some type of wet substance on him and hit him with a mop.

At 8:04 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 313 East 23rd Avenue in reference to a Criminal Trespass.

At 6:41 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 1506 East 16th Avenue, Apt. C, Whisperwood Apartments in reference to a disturbance.

At 1:06 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 105 North Bass Street, Apt. B. Upon arrival officers spoke with the complainant who advised that someone she named used her financial transaction card which was issued to her by Planters First Bank in such a manner and for such purposes not authorized by the complainant in order to obtain or purchase money, goods, services, or anything else of value.
