Funeral services for Frances Jones Whitfield of Warwick will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Warwick Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.Frances, 88, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at Crisp Regional Hospital.  Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Emmett Jerome Jones and Verlie Euna Jones.  She, along with her late husband, Adger Nedam Whitfield, owned and operated Smoak Bridge Casino and Marina. She was a member of Warwick Baptist Church all her life. Frances was a loving mother and grandmother, and a caring and giving person to all she knew. She is survived by her children, a son, Lenny Whitfield of Warwick and a daughter and her husband, Cathy and Donald Chapman of Warwick; a brother and his wife, Billy and Mary Jones of Lee County; a sister, Barbara Ann Pate of Ashburn; two grandchildren, Lacey Chapman of Warwick and Whit Chapman of Atlanta; a great-granddaughter. Abigail Grace Day; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by siblings, James Buford Jones, Emmett Jones, Jr., Carolyn Kennedy, Florence J. Wiles and Jacquelyn Jones Hancock.
