ABBEVILLE– On July 27, 2018 it was reported to the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office that a residence on Riverside Drive in Abbeville had been burglarized. During the burglary several firearms were stolen.

The Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation and we are glad to announce the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of all of the firearms stolen.

James Edward Rentfrow 32 years old of Moultrie was arrested and charged with burglary in Wilcox County and also charged with drug related objects, possession of firearms by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property by Appling County Sheriff’s Office.

Scott Allen Gaines JR 35 Y/O of Enigma was arrested and charged with burglary in Wilcox County and also charged with

drug related objects, possession of firearms by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property by Appling County Sheriff’s Office.

More charges may result from these arrests.
