A traffic stop on I-75 last weekend led to the arrest of an Atlanta man for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and failure to maintain lane.

On Aug. 18, Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputy First Class Loron Williams pulled over a grey Chrysler Crossfire on I-75 near mile marker 102. Deputy Williams pulled the vehicle over for failure to maintain lane and defective equipment. While speaking with the 26-year-old driver, Deaqwan O’Conner, Deputy Williams reported smelling the odor of marijuana.

A search of the vehicle turned up approximately one pound of marijuana and a firearm. Deputy Williams subsequently placed O’Conner under arrest and transported the suspect to the Crisp County Detention Center.
