Authorities with the Cordele Animal Shelter are asking residents for help identifying the pictured dogs. Anyone with information about them are encouraged to call and leave an anonymous voicemail at 229-276-2547.

If these dogs were taken from someone, those people may not have Facebook to see their dogs are missing, so please pass along any information to the Cordele Animal Shelter. These dogs are scared in the shelter.

Two girls apparently left the animals in the lobby at the shelter while the shelter manager was helping another couple. The girls reportedly said the dogs belong to neighbors and would not leave their yard, so they decided to take the dogs and try to give them away. Witnesses reported seeing the girls leave in a black Toyota truck, with the driver appearing to have dark curly hair. Both girls are white.

Authorities note that dogs are considered property in Georgia, and that theft and abandonment are state crimes. Call the shelter at 229-276-2547 with any information
