Crisp, Dooly, and Wilcox counties are among the 92 counties listed in Governor Nathan Deal’s executive order declaring a state of emergency due to the impending severe weather expected after Hurricane Michael makes landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Governor Deal signed the order on Tuesday, and it will be in place for a minimum of seven days. An emergency declaration in Georgia, among other things, provides for the strict prohibition of price gouging.

Governor Deal’s emergency declaration also “automatically activates the county emergency operations plan and shall be authority for the deployment of personnel and use of any forces to which the plan applies and for use or distribution of any supplies, equipment, materials, and facilities assembled, stockpiled, or arranged to be made available pursuent to the Georgia Emergency Management Act or any other law applicable to emergencies or disaster,” according to information provided by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
