WCSO arrests manhunt subject after 28-hour search

Joel Brown was the subject of a manhunt in Wilcox County, according to Sheriff Robert Rodgers. Brown was arrested Saturday at 8:30 p.m. after evading authorities for roughly 28 hours.

From a social media post made Saturday night by Wilcox County Sheriff Robert Rodgers: “Approximately 8:30 PM [Saturday] the Wilcox County Sheriffs Office arrested wanted fugitive Joel Brown while he was trying to make his escape from the Pitts area. We made good on our promise and took him down in Rochelle. Thanks to Crisp County Sheriffs Office and the Marshall Service.”

Brown fled on Friday from WCSO personnel attempting to execute a search warrant at a residence in Pitts.
