James Floyd Cannon Sr., 89 of Vienna, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Vienna, 341 Farmer’s Market Road, Cordele. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Floyd was born in Statesboro and was the son of the late Sylvester Temple Cannon and Maggie Lou Deal Cannon. A farmer, he was a lover of the land and enjoyed planting and watching things  grow. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed camping and fishing. Floyd loved to read Westerns and watching his “shootum ups” as he liked to call them. Most of all he was a deeply spiritual man and faithful to his God Jehovah. Floyd is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Cannon of Vienna; five children and their spouses, James Cannon, Jr. of Lizella, Janet C. and Jack Barone of Commerce, Phil and Gabby Cannon of Vienna, Lisa and Doug Willis of Ecuador and Julie and Jeremiah Smith of Cincinnati, OH; a brother and his wife, Harold and Alice Faye Cannon of Statesboro; 11 grandchildren, Catrina Hair and her fiancé, David Rucker, James Paul Cannon and his wife, Ieshia, Andrew Morgan Cannon and his wife, Joanabel, James Stephens, Leah Saldana, Phillip Wayne Cannon, Jr., Alan Brooks Cannon, Rachel Helena Willis, Ethan O’Quinn Willis, Jamie Savannah Smith and Jessie Cheyenne Smith; and seven great-grandchildren.
