The funeral mass for Mary Ruth Ciecmierowski of Cordele will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services. The Rosary will follow the visitation. Ruth, 93, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Mercy Folsom Hospital in Folsom, CA. She was preceded in death by husbands, Charles Torres and John Ciecmierowski; two sons, Charles Torres, Jr. and Robert Wayne Torres; and her daughter, Susan Fernandez. She was also predeceased by sibings, Louise Gatlin, Esther Alvarez and Lawrence “Sonny” Stone.  Born in Florida, she was the daughter of the late Wendall Lindsey and Gladys Bird Lindsey Stone.  Ruth was a homemaker and a devout and active member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church always holding positions of trust. She had the distinct privilege of being the first female police officer in Key West, FL. In Cordele, she had worked for many, years with Jiffy Jack’s.  Ruth is survived by her son and his wife, Dennis and Leslie Torres of El Dorado Hills, CA;  siblings, a brother and his wife, Bernard and Lucy Stone of Stuart, VA and a sister and her husband, Shirleen and Fernando Marques of Mt. Dora, FL; 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
