Investigators continue this morning to sort through clues left behind at a pair of weekend burglaries at the Stripling’s General Store and QuickBuys gas station on Highway 300.

According to Crisp County Sheriff Billy Hancock, an alarm sounded at QuickBuys (formerly known as PacknSack), located at the intersection of Highway 300 and Lakeshore Drive near Smoak Bridge, at approximately 11:50 Friday night. A deputy arrived at the location within three minutes of receiving the call to find that the front glass door had been busted and entry made.

While deputies were assessing the scene there, an alarm at the Stripling’s General Store location approximately two miles east of the QuickBuys was triggered. One of the two deputies on the scene of the first call, along with other units and a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol, responded to Stripling’s and discovered entry had been made there in the same manner.

Investigators stayed on the scenes until about 3 a.m. recovering physical and video evidence of the break-ins. Both cases remain under investigation, according to Hancock.
