Funeral services for Dorothy Lavonne Holder Butterworth of Cordele will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with the committal following in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Lavonne, 67, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lamar Holder and Annie Mae Bowen Holder. She was the retired owner and manager of Lavonne’s Kitchen and a member of the Baptist Faith. Lavonne was an avid cook and was always in her element when she was cooking and entertaining her family and friends. Her passion though was her grandchildren and the time that she spent with them. Lavonne is survived by her husband of 50 years, Byron Randall Butterworth of Cordele; three sons and their wives, Randy and Vickie Butterworth of Phenix City, AL, Bruce and Sheila Butterworth of Cordele and Paul and Deven Butterworth of Ideal; her daughter-in-law, Sheila Butterworth of Cordele; a sister, Michelle Poole and her husband, Craig of Sycamore; grandchildren, Amanda Butterworth, Ashley Adams and her husband, Hunter, Justin Butterworth, Caleb Butterworth, Bruce Butterworth, Brittany Butterworth, Reanna Beachump, Kayla Griffin and her husband, J.P., Destiny Hogan and her husband, Josh and Angel Locker; and five great-grandchildren, Myles Butterworth, Damon Sanders, Madon Sanders, Rhett Griffin and Hayden McCart. She was preceded in death by her son, John Butterworth, and siblings, Bobby Clark, Lamar Holder, David Holder, Opal Powell and Tammy Holder. Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
