Crisp County High School senior Clifton Mercer signed a letter of intent on Wednesday to continue his football career in college at Lenoir-Rhyne University in North Carolina.

As a three-year starter at left tackle, Mercer has been a key contributor during the Cougars’ run of three consecutive region championships.

“The whole Cougar football staff is really proud of Clifton and all of his accomplishments,” said CCHS football Head Coach Brad Harber.
