The GHSA 1-AAA baseball coaches recently made their selections for the region’s 2019 awards list and 11 Crisp County players were picked for all-region honors.

Six Cougars were picked for first team all-region honors:

• Bailey Barfield – Senior – Infielder – .333 batting average/1 Home run/18 RBIs/15 runs scored/12 stolen bases

• Jack Carter – Freshman – Infielder – .289 BA/16 RBIs/14 R/5 SB

• Toby Stripling – Junior – Outfielder – .278 BA/10 RBIs/24 R/7 SB

• Jackson Napier – Sophomore – Utility .326 BA/1 HR/17 RBIs/19 R/25 SB

• Noah Walters – Sophomore – Pitcher – pitching stats: 46.1 innings pitched/4-5 record/2.59 earned run average/2 saves/72 strikeouts. Offensive stats: .242 BA/10 RBIs/25 R/13 SB

• Connor Richmond – Junior – Pitcher – pitching stats: 61.1 IP/4-6 record/4.68 ERA/1 SV/36 Ks. Offensive stats: .267 BA/5 RBIs/12 R/7 SB

Three members of the Crisp County High School team were selected as second team all-region:

• Cole Lancaster – Senior – Infielder – .205 BA/7 RBIs/19 R

• Tanner Massey – Senior – Designated Hitter – .262 BA/8 RBIs/6 R

• Jordan Grinnell – Senior – Pitcher – 38 IP/3-2 record/4.24 ERA/2 SV/31 Ks

The Cougars also had two players picked as region honorable mentions:

• Dallas Pheil – Junior – Outfielder – .159 BA/2 RBIs/9 R

• Brant Drinnon – Senior – Pitcher – 30.1 IP/3-2 record/3.46 ERA/30 Ks
