Students, teachers, staff and administrators in the Dooly County and Wilcox County school systems kicked off a new academic year today. New faces, new programs, and new facilities will play important roles in student success in each school system in the Dispatch’s readership area during the 2019-2020 school year.

Dooly County School Superintendent Craig Lockhart, who took over as that school system’s chief educator in September of last year, had this to report on Thusday afternoon: “Dooly County Schools is off to a great start!  We had a very smooth first day, and I am extremely proud of our faculty, staff, students and parents.  We can tell this will be a spectacular year.  We are Dedicated, Determined, Dominant, and Dynamic!  This is Dooly!”

Crisp County public schools begin on Friday, and Crisp Academy will begin on Monday. Fullington Academy begins its school year on Sept. 3.
