Betty Jean Hayslip of Cordele passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty Jean. 77, was born in Macon and was the daughter of the late Clifford Fredrick Mixon and Ruth Estelle Adams Mixon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alton Stewart Hayslip and a brother, Jimmy Clifford Mixon. She was a retired cosmetologist and a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church for 48 years. She loved the outdoors, so she enjoyed fishing and working in her flowers. Her family was very special to her especially her granddaughter.

Betty Jean is survived by her children, a son and his wife, Ricky and Lisa Hayslip, two daughters, LeWanda Hayslip, and Becky Brown and her husband, Paul, all of Cordele; a brother -in-law and his wife, Buddy and Janice Hayslip; her granddaughter, Allie Brown; and her special cousin and best friend, Patsy Garrard; and several and nieces and nephews. She also had two daughters that she adopted into her heart: Tammie Sims of Cobb and Gena Moore of Cordele.
