Crisp Academy 46  Covenant Academy 42

The Crisp Academy Wildcat football team evened up their record at 1-1 for the season with a 46-42 win over Covenant Academy (1-3) in Macon on Friday night.

The Wildcats led the Rams 20-14 at the end of the first quarter, and the teams later went into halftime tied at 28-28. Crisp subsequently outscored Covenant 12-0 in the third period to take a 40-28 lead into the fourth. Covenant then scored 14 unanswered points during the fourth quarter to take a 42-40 advantage, but the Wildcats got a late touchdown pass from Jacob Odom to Baylor Pless to come away with the 46-42 win.

Pless accounted for five of Crisp’s seven touchdowns in the contest, according to the MaxPreps score tracker. Odom and Noah Mercer both threw two touchdown passes to Pless, while he scored his other one on a running play. Mercer also had a short touchdown run in the contest for the Wildcats.

Up next for the Wildcats is their home opener on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. against Coastal HomeSchool (1-2).

 

Wilcox County 48  Hawkinsville 14

Fitzgerald High 30  Dooly County 0

The Dooly County Bobcats fell at Fitzgerald High School (2-1) by a final score of 30-0 on Friday night.

Dooly is now 0-2 so far this season, and they will next play a home game in Vienna against defending class A state champions Clinch County (2-0) on Friday night with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.

 

Lafayette Christian 42  Fullington 0

The Fullington Academy Trojans fell to 1-2 so far this season with a 42-0 defeat on the road against the Lafayette Christian School Cougars (3-1) on Friday night in LaGrange.

The Trojans trailed at halftime by a score of 14-0, before Lafayette scored 28 more in the second half for the final score line of 42-0.

The Trojans will be back home for their next game, as Lanier Christian Academy (1-2) will make a trip to Pinehurst on Friday night.
