Funeral services for Larry Lamar Anderson of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services.  Larry, 63,  died December 11, 2019 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Calhoun Anderson. Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Sylvester Elton Anderson and the man that he also considered a father, the late Jack Calhoun. A certified mechanic, Larry was an auto mechanic in Athens where he and Jackie, the love of his life, met. After moving to Cordele, he was the owner of Radio Shack, which later became Anderson Electronics. He attended Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church. Larry always had a joke and a smile for everyone that he met. He loved people  and enjoyed helping anyone with a need. He was an avid fisherman and a volunteer fire fighter. Larry loved children and was a 4-H volunteer and a certified BB coach. Most important to him was his family and the time that he spent with them, especially his grandchildren. Larry is survived by his children, Chris Anderson and Mathew Anderson and his girlfriend, Brittany Ware, all of Cordele; four grandchildren, Morgan Anderson, Avery Anderson, Kaden Anderson and Allison Toms; the lady that he called his mother, Shirley Calhoun of Cordele; siblings, Juanita Wells and Jeffery Calhoun, both of Cordele and Jennifer Majors of Stockbridge.
