Nannette Butler Allen passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Coliseum Hospital in Macon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Baptist Church with the committal service following in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Nannette, 55, was born in Hawkinsville to Jerry Ollie Butler, Sr. and  Mary Frances McGriff. An active member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, she was a homemaker and a substitute teacher for the Crisp County School System. She had a huge heart for people and animals and was avid about rescue. She would give all of her time and money wherever she saw a need. Her biggest love though was her family and doing and giving of herself to them. Nannette is survived by her husband of 32 years, Mark Allen; two children and their spouses, Mark Allen, Jr. and Jessica Allen of Athens and Catherine Allen and Shannon Chapa of Cordele; her parents, Jerry and Frances McGriff Butler of Cordele; three grandchildren, Kylie Allen, Kade Allen and Ruby Frances Chapa; two brothers and their spouses, Jerry Butler, Jr. and Carrie of Cordele and Patrick Butler and Ryan of Atlanta; and a special nephew and  niece, Hunter Butler and Kinley Butler, and many other older nieces and nephews. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Cordele Animal Shelter, 501 North 7th Street, Cordele or to Friends of Cordele Animal Shelter, c/o Andrea Wade 191 Lake Drive, Cordele, GA 31015.
