William Edward “Ed” Rawlins, 61, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at his residence in Cordele. Due to the governmental restrictions,  a private graveside service only will be held.

Ed was born in Ashburn to the late  Willard Rawlins and Cornelia Kennedy Rawlins.  He was a supervisor (RET) with Big Tex Manufacturing and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Rebecca. He enjoyed cooking out and spending time with his family and was an avid deer hunter. Ed is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elaine Dixon Rawlins of Cordele;  two children, a son, Reid Rawlins of Vienna and a daughter and her husband, Whitney and Jackson Wells of Bonaire;  a brother and his wife, Bob and Gail Rawlins of Rebecca;  a sister and her husband, Ginny and Larry Collins of Vienna;  and a granddaughter, Clara Rawlins of Atlanta. In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial donations be made to  Andrea Wade, 191 Lake Drive, Cordele, GA 31015  for the Cordele Animal Shelter, or the Blackshear Veterinary Hospital at 2620 GA Hwy 90, South, Cordele, GA 31015. This is a fund that helps with treatments needed at the shelter.
