Rubye Elizabeth Easom, 97, a former long-time resident of Cordele, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Southern Pines Senior Living in Thomasville. Due to government regulations a private graveside service only will be held.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Oren Easom in 1991. Rubye was born in Pinehurst, the daughter of the late Seymour Daniels and Kate Morris Daniels.  Prior to her retirement, she was a very proud and conscientious employee of Ramada Inn for many years. Rubye had been a charter member of Grace Baptist Church and had been an integral part of its foundation. Until she moved to Thomasville to be near her daughter and son-in-law, she was an active member of Northern Heights Baptist Church and her Sunday School Class. A devout Christian, she loved her Lord, her family and her church family. However her passion in life was her family and the time she was able to spend with them. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Marsha and Gene Lord of Thomasville;  two grandsons and their wives, Michael and Stephanie Lord of Chelsie, AL and Mark and Ashly Lord of Carrollton, GA;  four great-grandchildren, Matthew Lord a senior at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, Andrew Lord a freshman at Auburn University in Auburn, AL, and Mason Lord and Caroline Lord, both of Carrollton, GA. Memorials to Southern Pines Senior Living, 423 Covington Avenue, Thomasville, GA 31792 would please the family.
