CUMMING — Claire Colleen Hunt, 56, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at Northside Hospital in Cumming, Ga. Claire was preceded in death by her husband: Major Dean Hunt; her parents: Clarence Coleman Everett and Frances Burgamy Everett; her step-mother: Agnes Mask Everett; as well as her sister: Nancy Grech Oliver.
Claire is survived by her sister: Brenda Fountain and her husband, James Fountain, Jr. of Ellaville; her brothers-in-law: Greg Hunt and his wife Robin of Cordele, and Rock Hunt and his wife Debi of Cumming; and her niece and nephew: Kerri Fountain and Trey Fountain.
Claire graduated from Americus High School and attended South Georgia Technical Institute in Americus for Cosmetology. During high school, Claire was a member of the band and flag corps and went to Washington DC with the band when President Carter was elected. She worked as a beautician for approximately 30 years before retiring.
Prior to her accident, Claire enjoyed spending time with God and being a loving and devoted wife to Dean. She enjoyed her cats, collecting Barbie dolls, the Georgia Bulldogs and making her home and yard beautiful. Claire’s life will be cherished by her friends and family. Dean and Claire attended First Baptist Church in Atlanta.
She was a sweet and giving person who devoted her life first to God and then to Dean, whom she loved and adored. A graveside service will be held for family and friends at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele.
