Lady Patriots Bring Pride to the Area

The Lady’s may have lost out and finished 4th in the State tournament but what they did accomplish was outstanding. The Lady Patriots finished off a magical 28-5 season and a final four appearance. Finally losing to Echols County 5-4. The Lady Patriots beat ECI to get to the final four by a score of 5-1. In that game Marquetta Griffin had 2 hits and her sister Martiesha Griffin and Autumn Tripp both got a single. Laura Lee Keene pitched 6 and a third innings to get the win striking out 9 enroute to the win.
In the Lady’s final game of the year they went toe to toe with Echols County who had already eliminated the number one seed Baconton Charter. In their 5-4 loss Autumn Tripp pitched 3 innings before relieved by Keene. Oakleigh Reeves and Laura Keene led the Patriots with two hits apiece. Keene and Courtney Quigg both added 2 and 1 RBI’s respectively.
“ I am so proud of these lady’s and their hard work and dedication to the game and to each other, they are just awesome,” said Head Coach Stephen McDuffie. The Lady Patriots graduate three seniors this year and they are Courtney Quigg, Kaylyn Shoemaker and Olivia Sercer.
