Crisp Wrestling Is making Moves

The Crisp County Cougar Wrestling team opened up their season with a home dual tournament Saturday at the CCMS gym. Crisp hosted Montgomery County, Dodge County, Veterans and SW Macon in a round robin format. The Cougars defeated every team to take home the 1st place trophy, SW Macon finished 2nd and Veterans was 3rd.
The Cougars opened up the day with Montgomery County and easily finished off the Eagles with a score of 60-10. The Next round was against the Dodge County Indians, once again the Cougars won easily 53-29. The 3rd round saw Veterans vs the Cougars, with the Cougars winning with a score of 51-30. The last round saw SW Macon v Crisp for the championship. SW has some great athletes and their were some excellent matches but Crisp won in the end 39-27. This win sealed the title for the Cougars!
“Overall, it was a good start to the season. Everyone was able to get at least 1 match during the day. We had several wrestlers go undefeated during the day,” said Head Coach Bill Pitt.
