CORDELE – Homer Jackson, 85, died Friday, April 8, 2016 at his residence in Cordele, Ga. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Hughes & Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson was a native of Cordele and the son to the late W.T. Jackson and the late Dolly Hatfield Jackson. He was a preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Helen Gloss Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a retired civil service worker for the Albany Marine Base. He was a member Wenona Methodist Church and enjoyed Woodworking.
Mr. Jackson was survived by his son: Robert Jackson and his wife Sheila of Cordele, Ga.; daughters: Melva Braman of Cordele, Ga. and Suzanne Baker of Pitts, Ga.; sister: Inna Belle Jackson of Cordele, Ga.; grandchildren: Brad Jackson and his wife Alicia, Sheree Jackson, Chris Braman all of Cordele, Ga.,  Nikki Pagacz and her husband Gabe of  South Boston, VA. , Gene Baker and his wife Nicole, Richard Baker and his wife Randi and Mistey Odom and her husband Payton all of Pitts, Ga.; great-grandchildren: Ethan Jackson, Jake Olds, Samantha Olds, Tristan Pagacz, Simon Baker, Doni Rae Baker, Ansley Baker, Dalton Baker and Jackson Odom.
