Cougars dump Worth

After dropping a 9-8 decision to Worth County down in Sylvester. The Cougars got some payback and moved into sole position of 3rd place in the region, with a 7-4 win Friday night.

With the loss Worth County has all but eliminated themselves from post season play. The Cougars future is in their on hands.

“ I am very proud of the boys they came out of gate fast and played hard,” said Head Coach Bill Pate. The Cougars were facing the Worth County ace Jay Jones who went deep into the game in the 6th inning. Myles Napier led the Cougar offense going 2 for 2 with  two walks and a run scored. Brennan Bledsoe added a hit and RBI along with Chase Yawn who had 2 RBI’s on an infield single. The Rams committed a couple of errors in the contest. Dagan Kennedy started on the mound for Crisp County. He scattered 5 hits, 3 walks, 4 runs and 5 strikeouts over 4 and 1/3 innings. He was relieved by Josh Powell who threw 1 inning striking out 1 and giving up nothing else. Napier came in to close and get the save pitching 1 and 2/3 innings with no walks and no hits. cougar 4cougar 3cougar 2
