CORDELE — Funeral services for Samuel Coney Allison, Jr. of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Arabi Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sammy, 63, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.  He was born in Americus, Sumter County and was the son of the late Samuel Coney Allison, Sr. and Edith Bailey Allison. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was retired from the Industrial Maintenance Department of Georgia Pacific. Sammy is survived by his two sons and their wives, Chris and Sandy Allison of Rockmart and Brian and Karen Allison of Bonaire; two sisters, Angelique Youngblood and her husband, Keith of Cordele and Betty Jo Allison of Eastman and her friend, Charles Duncan of Blairsville;  three grandsons, Blake Allison, Robbie Allison and Ryder Allison.  Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
