Every year we have to say good bye to another Senior class. The 2015-2016 school year has brought a lot of excitement to the area and even more promise for the future.
We have seen a huge change in Crisp Counties GHSA classification. We started at 4A and was headed to 5A. Then suddenly we ended up in 3A, wow what a ride! We watched as several of our local seniors have signed scholarships to play a variety of sports in college. We have watched some of our college seniors finish up outstanding collegiate careers. We watched as local sports teams from Crisp, Dooly, Wilcox. Fullington and Crisp Academy have all made good runs in numerous playoffs. Area Recreation Departments have won district and state titles in more than a few sports. We watched a SPLOST pass that will utilize money to build better sports facilities. We watched as new coaches took over in multiple sports across the tri-county area. Yes all in all the class of 2016 has had a really good run this year. I see an even bigger future in sports coming in the 2016-2017 school year. So good luck seniors I hope all your dreams come true. Remember Seniors “ life’s real failure is when you do not realize how close you were to success when you gave up.” Unknown.
