CORDELE — Dell F. Hughes died Monday night, July 18, 2016 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. A private burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Wilcox County, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Norman Shafter Faircloth and the late Myrtle Waldrip Faircloth. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lawrence Hughes; her siblings: Norman Faircloth, William T. Faircloth, Britt Faircloth, James Faircloth, Elizabeth Allison, Bessie Cantrell and Joyce Harrell.

Mrs. Hughes was a retired executive secretary for Tallman & Company and co-owner of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. She attended Georgia State College and graduated from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus with a BS in education.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by her sisters: Ina Faircloth of Atlanta, Ga. and Hazel Faircloth Coker of Cleveland, Ga.; her sisters-in-law: Mary Faircloth of Tifton Ga. and Ferol Faircloth of Wewahitchka, Fla.; her significant other: Terry Williamson of Cordele, Ga., several nieces and nephews, and several great- nieces and great-nephews.
