CORDELE – Funeral services for James Richard Dowdy, Jr. were held Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 3 P.M. in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Rev. David Edgar and Rev. Larry Wilbanks officiated the service. Grandsons, Rich Dowdy and Steve Dowdy read remembrances from their family.

Billy White, pianist, played for the service. He also sang “Look for Me at Jesus’ Feet” during the service and “Holy Ground” at the committal service. Rev. Lawton Sammons officiated the committal service at Sandy Mount Cemetery. Military honors were given at the graveside.

Honoring Mr. Dowdy as pallbearers were: Scott Dowdy, Steve Dowdy, Rich Dowdy, Rob Dowdy, Will Cromer, Clay Lewis, Pete Kochek and Jared Whitaker.
