Cougars head North

The Crisp County Cougars traveled up to Warner Robins to take on the Houston County Bears and for the 2nd time this year came away with a win 57-54. The 6A school got all they wanted from 3A Crisp. The Cougars fell behind 12-8 after one period. Then 19-18 at halftime but the Cougars came out on a mission in the third stanza and jumped out to 40 to 34 lead after round 3.

Ijon Owens led the Cougars in scoring with 18 points followed by Quentavious Dean with 14. The Cougars shot 53% from the field and 56% from the line. For the game the Cougars had 30 rebounds, 17 assists, 6 steals and 7 turnovers on the night. “The guys were solid tonight and didn’t waste shots, we have got to do better at the line,” said Head Coach Stacey Stephens. “ We are getting our basketball legs under us now with some of our big guys coming in from football and should get better.” The Cougars host Americus in Cordele @ 7:30pm Saturday the 17th.
