GAINESVILLE — Lee G. McMichael, 98, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 18, 2016 at Autumn Breeze.  Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mrs. McMichael was born in Worth County, Ga. to Jessie Elijah Gleaton and Timpe Elizabeth Dupre Gleaton. She is the widow of Obie Benjamin McMichael, Jr. She is preceded in death by her sons: Obie Benjamin McMichael III and Larry Lee McMichael; two brothers: Hayward Gleaton and George Gleaton; and five sisters: Louannie Cline, Emmie Rogers, Alice Moran, Myrtle Murray and Eva Wood. She was a homemaker and member of the Cordele First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son: James G. McMichael; her granddaughter: Jennifer McMichael; her grandsons: Scott McMichael and David McMichael; her nieces: Myrna Crowell, Deanie Cumbus, Evalyn Holcomb, Betty Inhulsen, Emily Perry, Elaine Taylor and Emerine Sweeney; her nephews: Jack Harris, Steven McMichael and Michael Wood; and her daughters-in-law: Alex McMichael, Kitty Moran and Bobbie Winger.
