Bommer R. Parks, Jr., age 78, of 1214 Williford Crossing Road South, Cordele, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Crisp Regional Nursing & Rehab in Cordele.

Born in Wilcox County, he was the son of the late Bommer R. Parks and Mary Lois Calhoun Parks.  He was a United States Army veteran, a member of Hatley Baptist Church and a self-employed carpet installer.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Kiki” Parks of Cordele; his son Shawn Wiggins (Sherri) of Union Point; his daughter, Leigh Anne Parks Stachowiak (Jeff) of Jacksonville, FL; his step-children, Todd Ramson (Angie) of Newport Richey, FL, Suzette Chavanne (Billy) of Spring Hill, FL and Jennifer Burge of Trinity, FL; his sister-in-law, Mary Short of Dunnellon, FL; his brother-in-law, Greg Carpenter of San Diego, CA; 3 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 18 at Hatley Baptist Church with Rev. James Spires officiating.
