Martha M. Everett

Martha M. Everett, age 83 of Abbeville, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 in the Church Home Rehab Center in Ft. Valley. Funeral service were held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Visitation was one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the church. Reverend John T. McDuffie and Reverend Jean Watson officiated. Interment was in the family plot in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Everett was born on December 5, 1933 in Miami, Florida. She was daughter of the late Raymond C. Mullis and Alma Slaton Mullis. She was a Retired Radio Dispatcher for the City of Rochelle with 32 years of service. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, George Cleveland Everett.

Survivors are: daughters-Linda (Jerry) Bennett of Monroe, Peggy (James) Rhodes of Abbeville and Shirley (Andy) Clendenin of Monroe, grandchildren-Kayla and Adam Rhodes and Kelli and Canna Clendenin and 1-great-grandchild-Alexander Evan Unger.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Everett requested that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 792 Houston Mill Rd., Atlanta, Ga. 30329.

Pallbearers were: Charles Futch, Russell Parks, Glen McDuffie, Randy Coker, Herman Greene and Dale Frazier.

Rhonda Henderson played prelude and postlude and played a piano solo, “How Great Thou Art”. Lachyrll Taylor sang “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hands”.

Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle had charge of arrangements.
