AN ABOMINATION BEFORE GOD

Luke 16:13-15…Original Greek…13… No household slave can serve two lords, either he will hate one and love the other, or hold fast to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (money or riches) 14… Now all the Pharisees heard these things and scoffed at Jesus because they were money lovers. 15…And He said to them: You are the ones who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; because the thing which is lofty among men is an abomination before God.

1 John 2:15-16…Love ye not the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; 16..because all which is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

The Apostle Paul warned young Timothy in 1st Timothy, chapter 6 with the following warning: “If anyone teaches false doctrine and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. Being diseased in his mind about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions, and constant friction, they are men of corrupt minds who have been deprived of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness. But godliness with contentment is great gain.”

Jesus said in Matthew 6:31-33, “Do not be anxious saying; What will we eat?; What will we drink?; or What will we wear?: For all these things the nations seek after, and the heavenly Father knows that you need all of these things. But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all of these things will be added to you.”

In Luke 12:15 Jesus said, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all forms of greed or covetousness; a man’s life doesn’t consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

Jesus left His glory in heaven and was made lower than the angels in order that He might taste death for every man to bring many sons unto glory. One day, all who are His will behold and partake of His heavenly glory. Jesus was born in a borrowed barn and lain in a borrowed manger. He drank water from a borrowed waterpot and preached while standing in a borrowed boat.

He testified; Foxes have holes, birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head. He rode on a borrowed donkey and shared the last supper with His disciples before His death in a borrowed room. After He was crucified, His body was placed in a borrowed tomb.

May God save and deliver all who are drinking the Kool-Aid of the prosperity message and may He raise up men with a spiritual spine who will proclaim the one true Gospel, the message of the cross!
