Anna, 86 years young, passed away peacefully on Sunday the 14th of May in Perry, Georgia. She was born in Turner County, but was a long-time resident of Wilcox County until she met and married the love of her life, Raymond Odom. After marrying, they lived in Warwick, Georgia until his death in 2012. Mrs. Odom was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Moore of Rochelle and Betty Johnson of Tifton, and her eldest daughter, Shirley Wise of Cordele. She is survived by her two daughters Martha Barrett of Perry and Kathy Cummings (Rick) of Ft. Valley and two step-daughters, Karen Barnes (Donald) of Cordele and Karla Turner of Leesburg. Mrs. Odom was blessed with eight  granddaughters, two grandsons, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, including her special great grand, Jack, who she spoiled and treasured until the very end.
Anna loved watching the Hallmark Channel, Elvis movies, and old Matlock and Andy Griffith reruns. Her favorite pastime was cooking for her family, and anyone else who just happened by. She fried the best chicken in three counties and made a mean pot of chicken and dumplings. She had a smile and a laugh that would light up a room, and loved to start off a good gossip session with, “Honey, let me ask you somethin’”. Her presence will be sorely missed, but her light will shine on in the legacy she left behind.
