Faye P. Vaughan

Faye P. Vaughan, age 85, of 20820 Highway 27 West, Vienna, died Sunday, September 3, 2017, at her residence.

Born in Vienna, she was the daughter of the late Henry Clayburn Poole and Irene Hatchet Poole.  She retired from the Dooly County Tax Commissioner’s office where she was a clerk for many years.  Mrs. Vaughan was a faithful member of Drayton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, assisted with Vacation Bible School and served as social director.  She enjoyed fishing, sewing and working with her flowers.  In 1949, she was Miss Vienna.

She is survived by her son, Van A. “Buz” Vaughan, Jr. of Vienna; her daughter, Christena LaFaye “Christy” Vaughan of Cumming; 6 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Van A. Vaughan.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Wednesday, September 6 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna with interment in Vienna City Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 – 8 PM Tuesday, September 5 at the funeral home.
