October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Published 8:55 am Wednesday, October 4, 2017
For more than 250,000 woman a year, October is more than a month, it’s a chance to reflect on a terrible disease, breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Awareness is synonymously known by the pink ribbon and color worn not only by individuals, but even professional football players in the NFL for the duration of the month.
I have been blessed to have a mother and grandmother that have not been affected by this, however, I’ve seen the pain, the uncertainty and how life altering a diagnosis can be.
This month I would like to highlight individuals that have beaten the disease or put it in remission.
I encourage readers and residents of Crisp, Wilcox and Dooly County to reach out to me at trevor.mcnaboe@cordeledispatch.com so that I can highlight these individuals.
