Richard Bernard Bopp

Richard Bernard Bopp, 79, of Cobb, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus. A native of Johnstown, PA, he was born January 2, 1938. He was a member of First Street Church of Christ, thirty-year member of the Lions Club, and was a retired Special Education teacher. After service in both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army, he retired after serving over twenty years.
 
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus with Rev. Glenn Jarrett officiating.
 
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bopp of Cobb; five daughters: Mitzi Palmer of McDonough, Crystal Deen of Cobb, Teresa Gilliam of Cordele, Candace Taylor of Cordele, and Jessica Weeks of Cordele; and three sons: Bryan Bopp of Gibson, John Hill of Odesa, FL, and Jeffery Hill of Cordele. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
 
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd, Americus, Ga 31719.
