CORDELE, GA — Graveside memorial services for Clarence B. Thomas, 95, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at Sunnyside Cemetery.  Mr. Thomas died at his residence Sunday night, Nov. 19, 2017. The family may be contacted at his residence.

Mr. Thomas was a native of Cordele. He was the son of Paul E. and Dora Cecelia Dockweiler Thomas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Mae Stewart Thomas, and his grandson, Dale Pearce Thomas.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was also a prisoner of war. He also was a member of the American Legion and the Disable American Veteran.

Survivors include his son: Rodney (Beverly) Thomas of Vienna, Ga., his daughters: Beverly Harrison of Cordele, Ga., and Karen (David) Register of Cordele, Ga.; his grandchildren: Suzanne (Ronnie) Miller, Jennifer (Shane) Smith, Ashley (Andy) Goforth, Heather Register, Heath Register and Dr. Susan (Zeke) Thomas; his great-grandchildren: Ross, Reagan and Rachel Goforth, Ryan and Blake Smith, Briley Register, Landon Register and Elizabeth Desnik.
