George M. “Mack” Bush

George M. “Mack” Bush, age 81, of 70 Bush Road, Vienna, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at his residence.

Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late Joseph Daniel Bush and Gertrude Peavy Bush.  Mack was a true patriot.  He served his country with honor for over 20 years in the United States Army.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and received 2 Purple Hearts, a Silver Star and 2 Bronze Stars.  He was an amazing husband, the best father his daughters could have asked for and an awesome Grandpa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mack considered himself lucky to have his wife, Norma and called her “his beautiful bride” daily.  He was a great friend to many and above all, he was a Christian.  He was a hero to his family and will be sorely missed by them and his many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Bush of Vienna; his daughters, Cheryl Benton (Ronnie) of Snellville, Gwen Reimer (Harry) of Charleston, SC, Lisa Tucker (Lorne) of Perry and Penney Bush of Charleston, SC; his sisters, Peggy Cooper (Billy) of Dallas and Joyce Lancaster of Cochran; his grandchildren, Allison Crisp (Will), Brooke Benton, Amanda Martin (Alden), J. T. Benton, Lindsay deYampert (Sullivan), Michael Benton and Samantha Hammond; his great grandchildren, Autumn Martin, Hunter Crisp, Lucy deYampert and Addilyn Martin.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Bush Weise.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday, December 4 in Smyrna Baptist Church.  Interment with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends 3 – 5 PM Sunday, December 3 at the funeral home.
