Fullington Lady Trojans move into final four

The Fullington Academy Lady Trojans made it into the final four of the GICAA Division 1-A playoffs with their win over Nathanael Greene Academy on Friday in Douglas. They will take on Unity Christian School from Rome, Georgia in their final four game Friday night at 7 at Central Georgia Tech in Macon. Unity was the region champion from the North region and they have put together a pretty solid record to this point in the season. The Lady Trojans are on a long winning streak, having not lost since late December.
The Fullington boys’ had their season end in the quarterfinals of the playoffs after falling to Covenant Christian Academy on Saturday afternoon in Douglas. The Trojans certainly gave Covenant, one of the best teams as far as W/L record to this point in the season in the GICAA, a battle in the game. Covenant led 33-25 going into the fourth quarter, but the Trojans fought all the way back to within two points late in the game, before ultimately falling to Covenant by a final score of 41-39.
Update: The Lady Trojans defeated Unity Christian School 56-37 in the semifinals, and then defeated Georgia Christian school in the state championship game 50-31. Full report will be posted as soon as it is available on Cordele Dispatch website, as well as in Wednesday’s sports section.
