A memorial service and a celebration of his life will be held for Albert M. Allen of Cordele at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Georgia Veterans State Park at the Group Shelter across the street from the tanks and planes. The family will meet with friends immediately following the service. Albert, 61, passed away in the late evening of Friday, May 4, 2018 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Born in New Orleans, LA, he was the son of the late Albert Haywood Allen and Luz Martinez Allen. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dianna Staples and a nephew, Jason Denby. Albert served his country honorably in the United States Navy, and was a 30-year employee of Harris Waste Management as a Service Tech. He was a loving husband, father, brother and soon to be grandfather. He had a large family-like circle of friends, in and out of the bike club that he loved so much. He was always a beacon of compassion and generosity to all that knew him. Albert is survived by his wife, Lynn Murphy Allen of Cordele; a son and his wife, Dylan Miles and Christina Silvi Allen, of Albany; brother-in-law, Jack Staples; and a niece and nephew, Andrea and Jeremy.
