CCHS girls golf team qualifies to compete at state tournament

CORDELE- The Crisp County High School girls’ golf team qualified for the GHSA AAA state tournament for the first time since 2001 and will be competing at state today and tomorrow. The Lady Cougars finished second in the area tournament earlier this month to qualify for state, finishing ahead of Pike County, Jackson and Peach County, while Rutland High School took first place in the area competition.

The Lady Cougars will be competing in the state tournament at Cateechee Country Club on Lake Hartwell in Hartwell, Georgia. The team is led by senior, Andrea Shiver, who has averaged shooting a 79 this year according to Crisp County Head Golf Coach Don Vandygriff.

CCHS results from the state tournament will be posted online when they are made available.
