Ralph E. Cason

Ralph E. Cason, age 94, of 3251 Highway 215 East, Vienna, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his residence.

Ralph was born on January 6, 1924 to the late Dovie B. Cason and Mildred Mabel Coppedge Cason of Vienna, Georgia.  He served in the United States Army Air Corps, was a dedicated member of the Vienna Kiwanis Club for many years and a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and was very active in the life of the church.  He served as Tax Commissioner of Dooly County from 1955 to 1985 when he retired.

Ralph was an extremely loving and dedicated husband, father and PaPa.  He loved people and having conversations with them, for he never met a stranger.  He was an honest, humble man with strong values who firmly believed in treating others as he wanted to be treated.  To his wife and children he was the epitome of the perfect role model.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 71 years, Ruth Morris Cason; his son, Ray Cason (Jackie) of Vienna; his daughters, Elaine Culpepper (Rick) of Vienna and Karen Ransom (David) of Unadilla; his sister, Mary Burch (Abb) of Jonesboro; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail C. Mashburn.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, July 7 in Shiloh United Methodist Church with interment in Vienna City Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 – 8 PM Friday, July 6 at the funeral home.
