Funeral services for Orba Christene Gilbert of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with burial following in Sunnyside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Christene, 87, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Cordele Health and Rehab. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Daniel Gilbert, Sr. and children, Thomas Lee Daniel and Alice Pearl Cleveland. Born in TyTy, she was the daughter of the late Troy Sanders Fogarty and Alice Thelma Jackson Fogarty.  She was a homemaker and a member of Haw Pond Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, playing video games and her cats. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, a daughter, Orba Louise Croft of Sycamore and two sons, Troy R. “Dobie” Daniel and his wife, Melinda of Arabi and William “Billy” Daniel Gilbert, Jr. of Cordele; eight grandchildren, Christina Marie Craig, James Croft, Alison McKinsey, Michael Daniel, Josh Daniel, Jessica Douglas, Heather Daniels and Courtney Daniel; 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.  Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
