…CENTER OF MICHAEL APPROACHING MIDDLE GEORGIA…

As of 8 PM this evening, the center of Hurricane Michael was over
Calhoun County, just west of Albany, moving north-northeast. As
the storm continues to approach middle Georgia this evening,
strong wind gusts of 50 to 70 mph will significantly increase the
risk of downed trees and powerlines, along with the potential of
producing some structural damage. Persistent heavy rainfall will
increase the flood threat with localized flash flooding possible
as 2 to 5 inches of rain occurs in just a few hours.

Residents from Lumpkin to Americus to Cordele to Unadilla to
Ellaville should be prepared for these dangerous conditions
through 11 PM this evening.
