Edward Lumpkin passed away after a lengthy illness on October 15, 2018 at the age of 67.
Edward was born in Worth County to Christopher Columbus and Carrie Lounez Sellars Lumpkin. Ed spent 39 of his years here on Earth as the WORLD’s best manager of Doles Peanut Company in Doles, Georgia. Many of his outrageous hobbies included speeding down the highway on his Harley Davidson motorcycles, spending late nights roping cattle on his favorite horses, and he was always in for a good game of cards. He was also known as the “Real” Easter Bunny that could hide an egg better than the Cadbury Bunny. Ed loved big, and he taught his children and grandchildren to live with compassion. Edward is best known as the most fun-loving Pa Ed in all the South. In his later years, he spent numerous hours with his grandchildren playing at the barn, riding the Kubota, playing the “Christmas” game, and teaching the grandchildren to ride and care for horses. He leaves behind a legacy of living life to the fullest and to always put family first. Survivors include his wife, Patricia W. Lumpkin of Ashburn, his children, Christopher Lumpkin of Kennesaw, Kristy (Chad) Stone of Tifton and Misty (David) Bass of Ft. Polk, LA. A brother, W. L. (Mary D.) Lumpkin of Rogers, AR.
